FO: Gift Set
今週頑張って作った手提げ袋、ティッシュケース、小物入れをあわせるとこんな感じです。
２セット作って、これからやってくるお客様にあげます。
ところどころ縫い目が微妙なところもあるけど、「気持ち」よね。
So I have made 2 sets of gift set with my boxy bag, tissue case, and a zipper pouch.
I will give them to our house guests over the Labor Day weekend.
I forgot to top stitch around the zipper for the zipper pouch (I definitely need my own tutorial post so that I can follow my own instruction without deviating).
Thought that counts, right?

FO: Zipper Pouches
ファスナーつきの小物入れを作りました。
Made a couple of zipper pouches. It had been a while since I last made zipper pouches and I needed some refreshment instructions. I should make notes as I go so that I don't have to rummage through my Pinterest to find my favorite tutorial or so that I don't forget when to add a tag or pull tab.
I thought of making a hand written notes but then I realized why don't I make my own tutorial post so that it's easily accessible with photos. I definitely should. Next time.

FO: Boxy Bag Ver. 2
箱型手提げ袋、完成。
本当言うと、無地の緑色の布をジグザグ模様と合わせて、葉っぱ模様の布は内布にしたかったのだけど、サイズを間違えて布を切った上に、あまり布の長さが足りなくて切り直せなくて結局葉っぱ模様が外側の布になりました。
だから柄的に、ちょっと微妙じゃない？
作り直せる時間なし。
まぁ、あげるものだから、気持ち、ってことで。
写真だと大きく見えるけど、高さはジュースの缶よりちょっと高いぐらいよ。
I initially wanted to use a solid green to match with the chevron for outer shell and use the leafy fabric for the lining. I cut the wrong size for the leafy fabric and did not enough fabric left to re-cut so I had to use the leafy fabric for outer shell.
So, aesthetically, it's a bit of "meh" to me.
But I don't have enough time to re-make them. Oh well.

WIP: Boxy Bag Ver. 2-2
箱型手提げ袋の続き。
アイロンかけて接着芯張ったところで終了。だってスチームかけてのアイロン作業は暑いんだもの。
I've been binge watching Project Runway Season 1 and 2 and have not been sewing much these days.
I am surprised that as much as I don't like ridiculous reality TV shows, I actually enjoy Project Runway very much. Especially Season 2 was much better than Season 1.
Anyway, still slowly working on the boxy bag. I put the fusible interface on and done for now. It's just too damn hot in my sewing room with hot iron on for so long.

FO: Tote Bag
先日の箱型手提げ袋とおそろいでトートバッグを作りました。
しゃきっと立ってて、ちょっとうれしい。
これも練習用なのでヒジョーにシンプルです。
中はこんな感じ。
一応中には大きめのポケットがついてて、マジックテープでポケットの口を押さえています。
初めて磁石のスナップボタンを使ってみました。（私、トートバッグの口がガバガバ開くのがいやなの）思ったほど難しくなくて、ほっ。
この前の箱型手提げ袋と比べると、こんな感じ：
Made a tote bag and tried my very first magnetic snap. It was much easier than I thought it was.

Green Onion
夕ご飯用にグリーンオニオン（ワケギみたいな葱）を一束買ったので、切り落とした根っこの部分を花壇畑に植えました。
根の生えてるところから２センチぐらいしか残さずに切ったのに、翌朝にはもうこんなに伸びてたよ。
ちなみにこれは（↓）は春に植えたやつ。
必要な時にちょきっとはさみで切って使います。前は窓辺で水だけで育ててたんだけど、やっぱり土に入れたら育ちがいい。
もう一体何度刈り取ったことでしょう。もう底なしのようにまた生えてくるからすごい。

I used to grow the green onion ends in water on the windowsill but the one in the soil definitely grow strong. The one I planted in spring is still growing no matter how many times I chopped it off, almost perpetually.
If this batch grow well, maybe I don't have to buy green onions any more.

FO: Boxy Bag
前回の失敗に負けず、何とか完成、箱型手提げ袋。
サイズの確認にもなったし、改良点もわかったのでいい練習になりました。
中途半端に良くできた試作品は捨てるのももったいないけど、人にあげられるほど出来もよくなくて、どうしようか微妙。
After my last failure, I made another boxy bag: this time, a success.
Now that I know how big/small it is and see some improvements I can do, this was a good practice.
The problem of a successful prototype is that it's too good to throw away but not good enough to give away.

Basil Salt
タイバジルに続き、スイートバジルも茂みが大きくなったので、枝をいくつか刈り取りました。
刈り取ったバジルはバジルソルトにしてみました。
洗ったバジルの葉っぱを粗塩と混ぜてフードプロセッサーにかけ、オーブンで水気を飛ばして最後にまたフープロで固まった塩を砕いて完成。
使い道は、まだ未定。
Now that the Thai basil has been pruned a bit, this time, I pruned sweet basil.
And made basil salt.
It was pretty easy to make: pat dry the leaves after washing, put the leaves in a food processor with salt (I used kosher salt), then dry the batch in the low temp oven. Put the mixture back in the food processor to break the lump apart and done.
I just don't know what I am going to use the salt for...

Bush Beans
インゲンの芽が出た！
朝見たときには頭がやっと出てるぐらいだったのに、夕方にはしゃっきり双葉が出てて、翌朝起きたらもう本葉が出てた。
Bush beans are growing fast!
When I saw then in the morning, it was barely coming out of the soil. In the evening, they were all 2 inches tall and the next morning the true leaves are already coming out.
