Back to the Sewing Room

It has been a very hot monsoon season and I had had no energy to do anything for the past month.
I finally got my heavy ass up in the sewing room and made a simple T shirt.

The pattern is Maria Denmark Kirsten Kimono Tee. It is a free download if you sign up with the newsletter.
It is a kimono-sleeved, boat neck T-shirt and comes with whopping 2 pattern pieces: front bodice and back bodice.

The fabric is a left over from my Jalie dress. The blue neck band is also the same fabric that I used for the Jalie dress's waist band.

I cut the pattern for size S. Then I realized that the pattern did not include seam allowance. So I decided to use the pattern as if it included a 1/4" seam allowance (for serger) and cut the fabric as is, except for hem (added 1") and sleeve hem (added 1/4").
I think it worked fine, except that my hip is a bit tight.

It was very simple to make and very comfortable to wear. My coverstitching skill is getting better and I'm very happy with my hems. It also uses VERY little fabric.

The fabric pattern is a bit "out there" for a T-shirt but I like everything about it and it definitely helped to boost what other people call "sewing mojo."
